We’re a proud member of the Poway community! Country Montessori School in Poway provides a nurturing environment where children from San Diego County develop a love for learning and self-discovery.
Our students actively serve our neighborhood through several local outreach programs:
- Upper Elementary students build inter-generational relationships with regular visits to Poway Gardens, a local assisted living facility.
- Trash pickup on Monte Vista Rd in front of the school keeps our campus clean and proud.
- Students and families help CMS support Feeding San Diego through food drives and an Elementary field trip to help sort food.
- Taking care of our environment at the annual beach cleanup.
We look for creative and impactful ways to engage with the community, both locally and on a global scale.

January 2025: WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges) Commissioners announced that Country Montessori School’s accreditation has been extended for a further six years based on information provided by the school, the self-study report and the on-site accreditation visit.
Country Montessori School has been helping children develop their intellectual, physical, social, and emotional potential to the fullest since 1989.
The Country Montessori School program encompasses learning for children of preschool, kindergarten, and elementary ages. Our classrooms are specifically designed as prepared environments, allowing each child to develop at their speed, according to their capacities. Country Montessori has had an Elementary program since it opened in 1989. Located in Poway, our Montessori school serves the San Diego area, emphasizing independence, curiosity, and a passion for learning.
