CMS Walk-A-Thon – Wednesday 11/18!

We are excited to hold our annual Walk-a-thon on Wednesday! This year will look a little different, but still have the same goals. The Walk-a-thon is a fun and exciting way for students and families to get involved and help support our fundraising efforts. Please send your child(ren) to school on Wednesday in closed-toe comfortable shoes.

Staying within the health and safety guidelines, students will be walking/running with their pods. Each classroom will be taking turns running the track. Since our friends and families are not able to join us, please join our zoom. Also – please send in your poster signs by Tuesday!! No bigger than 3’x3’. I will place them around the track Wednesday morning for all the students to see!

Schedule -Please note that the students will be running in Pods. So if your child(ren) is not running at the beginning of the class time – they will be right after the 1st pod.

We will be using FundHub (Get Movin’ Fundraising) to manage all our Walk-a-thon donations. Each family will need to register their child(ren) at Get Movin’ Fund Hub, Get Movin’ Fund Hub, then select register as a parent. Fill out your contact information, our school code  is auto populated when you use the hyperlinks.  Once registered you can customize your individual fundraising page, adding personalized messages, pictures or a fun video.  Use the Family Share option to share multiple student pages through a single message.  Donations can be made by credit card directly through the student Walk-a-thon page.

If you would like to just use the paper Pledge sheet sent home earlier, that is okay too! Check donations are also accepted and can be turned in directly to the CMS office. We hope that every family will participate in our annual fundraiser!

A special thank you to our Walk-a-thon Sponsors:

Thanksgiving Feast at CMS

The Country Montessori tradition of a Thanksgiving feast will be held on Friday, November 20th. The menu will include rotisserie chicken, mashed potatoes, applesauce, fresh carrots with ranch dressing, apple juice and a dessert, which are all store bought.  If you do not think your child(ren) would not like this menu, please send along a lunch. Otherwise, don’t bother with that lunch bag on Friday!

Due to safety protocol, the festivities will be limited to their classrooms/pods, and we are unable to mix our classes as is our tradition. However, we will take photos and share them with our CMS families on our social media pages.

This is a special time for students and staff to gather together and experience a festive celebration of school community. We wish you all a very safe and happy Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving Week Child Care

CMS will be closed for Thanksgiving week, November 23-27.  Child care will not be available. Please have a safe holiday!

Thanksgiving Safety and Advisory Travel

As we approach the holiday season, many families may be planning to travel or get together with friends or relatives outside of their immediate family.  We understand how important these connections and activities are during the holidays.  As you make your plans, please keep in mind that following all relevant county, state, and national guidelines relating to gatherings and travel can help prevent you and your loved ones from getting sick.  This means that it’s important to wear a mask, wash your hands, and practice physical distancing wherever you go, and stay home if you are sick.  We are all in this together and want to keep our students, families, staff and school healthy to the extent possible.
